Only when the man stepped down from the thing he was standing on did Lee notice it -- or more precisely, the wheels. At first, he had been too distracted by the building at large to comprehend what he was seeing, and he had thought it was only a simple platform of some sort. But really, if he had come this close to walking by a man who was standing on a platform, he would have noticed, large building or not. The thing looked something like a miniature jinrikisha, if it had toppled over backwards and now sat on the passenger compartment, with the handles poking up into the air.
It seemed that the interesting sights in this new place were only just getting started. Before Lee had the chance to ask what the device was, however, the man was posing questions for him, instead, and he tried to contain his suddenly almost overwhelming curiosity, for the moment.
"It is my first time in both," he answered, looking up from the device with a cheerful little answering laugh. He did not know what a 'mall' was before now, but he gathered from what the man had said that was what this huge building was called. A mall ... interesting. And he could buy things here, if he needed to. Where to shop was always a good thing to know. He might need to make some notes later, for future reference, but the man seemed so helpful and friendly that it would not do to pull out his notebook rather than listen to him. Gai-sensei was used to his doing that, but this man was not. Even if he did only turn out to be a product of genjutsu in the end, Lee did not wish to offend him in the meantime.
"Thank you very much," he said, before giving a little bow. "I think that I would like a tour." And then ... well, Lee found that he simply could not contain himself any longer. "What is that thing?" he asked then, pointing at the device. The question might have seemed a little rude, with the way he blurted it out, so suddenly, and so with another bow, he added, "If you will pardon the question."
