Peggy laughed at Steve's reaction softly. He would never change and she adored that about him. It was really quite endearing. From the moment when she had first met him as a scrawny guy who was constantly being beat up by bullies he tried to stop and couldn't walk far without suffering to asthma attacks to how he was now, she adored him. There was just something amazing about him that pulled her towards him. "Don't you ever dare change, Steve Rogers," she said with a smile.
"Of course not, I wouldn't have done it if they actually had." She wondered if she could tell him who it was but decided after a moment that it was perhaps best if he didn't know. There was no harm in him knowing but... Then she changed her mind. "It was Howard," she admitted. "His inventions were stolen and were being sold on the black market and of course the government blamed him for selling to the enemies. Completely stupid," she said with a shake of her head. "They came around though thankfully." It was a long progress through full of ups and downs and a punched eye in the process. While she understood why Howard had kept that secret she was hurt that he hadn't trusted her but she came to accept it nonetheless.
"I wish that too but knowing you get a second chance at life, it eases the pain a lot," she admitted staring at him straight in the eyes, all of her emotion visible in them. Her love, her sadness, her pain. All of it, as s he returned the squeeze that he gave her. "I'm glad and I do trust you, I really do," she said giving him a smile.
"I'd like that actually, it would be great to meet more people."
