She was actually uniquely qualified to understand how he felt, now that she'd been pulled to a new place with technology far beyond what they'd had back then. Steve smiled at the thought. "It's a lot like appearing here. Technology has improved a lot, but it's so much more than that, too." It was hard to explain it all, and he half wished he still had his notebook filled with things other people thought it important for him to catch up on. "It's been two and a half years since I woke up and I've barely got my head wrapped around it all." He gave her a reassuring smile, adding, "You'll figure it out, Pegs. You've always been a lot smarter than me."
It really meant so much to him, to see her so young and vibrant again. "You've got access to the network figured out, that's good. Stark- uh, Tony, that is. Howard's son. He's got an artificial intelligence program that he built, JARVIS. It's great work, very helpful, but the disembodied voice was hard to get used to." Steve felt a little uncomfortable, questions about Howard on the tip of his tongue, but it wasn't any of his business. He knew how history played out, in the end. "It's a lot to get used to, but I'll be here to explain it and offer up any suggestions on things to check out. I used to carry around a notebook of all the things people suggest to me. Well, the serious ones, at least. Any suggestions you get from Tony, you should always check with Ms Potts first. She's a real life saver."
The kettle whistled, so Steve set about filling their mugs. He only added a spoonful of sugar to his, but there was cream as well for her to add if she wanted it. "I'm sure you've shown them up around every corner," Steve mused with a pleased grin. Peggy was such a strong leader and tactician, not to mention more than capable as an agent. "I'm glad you were able to help your friend. You do a lot of great things, but that didn't surprise me, when I found out." Steve shifted on his feet, not wanting to give too much away of her future if she didn't want it.
"Tell me about your co-workers? Have you shot at any of them yet?" It was a light tease, friendly, as a way to take the weight off all the heavy stuff he kept saying.
