Fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable movement of the city, Loki had spent quite a bit of time navigating around the perimeter and searching for any kind of clue as to how such a large area was transplanted. With no frame of reference, the frost giant could not say how far Test City had travelled, but it had travelled and that was exceptional on its own. Accompanying the chance in scenery were small golden coins, one of which Loki was currently turning over in his hands. One of its faces was emblazoned with a claw-like marking but Loki had very little hunting or tracking skills and could not confidently name the creature to whom the marking belonged. His careful and meticulous route around the borders of the town had eventually led to his discovery of the large gate that stood in front of him. Absently the jotun continued to turn the coin over in his hands as he studied the tall and rather imposing port that stood before him. Inspection had led him to believe that the coin and the doorway were connected and he had come to the conclusion that presenting the coin in some manner may allow him to pass through. However, Loki doubted this was just a simple toll and whatever lay behind this door may not quite be worth the price. An announcement earlier this morn had informed the city of the ancient beasts that resided in the forest past the gates, creatures far older than even Loki. Curiosity sparked in him a desire to see them, watch them move and breathe, to witness something so old with his own eyes. His curiosity however battled with practicality and caution, preventing him from making the final steps through the gate and into the wilderness beyond. Letting go of the coin, Loki caught it with the green aura of his sorcery and continued to manipulate it, turning it over and spinning it, moving only his hand at the wrist but otherwise standing stock still. |
