Nodding, Katniss didn't really know what else to say. She'd feel something if Hayley or her daughter somehow didn't make it home, but she wasn't sure what exactly that something would be. It wouldn't be guilt because Katniss didn't even know the woman and she wouldn't take responsibility for her death, but she wouldn't feel nothing. If she did, then she wouldn't be any better than Snow.
"Thanks." Katniss followed where Hayley was pointing, taking note of the direction. Even if she didn't have any intention of staying there, checking it out couldn't hurt. Even so, Katniss couldn't help but feel hesitant to go into the city, imagining it to be boobytrapped like the Capitol had been. The idea of going into that alone scared her, even though it was probably not the case considering that Hayley seemed to have wanted to escort her there.
Katniss turned back to Hayley, only saying "Maybe," in response to her statement with a small shrug of her shoulders. Done with the conversation, the archer readjusted her bow and started for the city.
