Under her breath, Katniss just kept repeating the same things over and over again. Sometimes it was just better to try and tune out everything else and right now, that was what she was going to do. It felt like the whole world was spinning around her, like she had some kind of horrible vertigo and if she had eaten anything she might have thrown up. Her stomach twisted and turned and her head was swimming and she wasn't sure if she was even breathing.
How was it possible to be in one place when you closed your eyes and a completely different place when you opened them? But Snow could make lizards that smelled like roses and hissed her name, could make wolves that had the eyes of people she'd seen die. He could worm his way into the most generous and kind person she ever knew and make him want to strangle her on sight. If he could do all of that, maybe he could make her lose what was left of her sanity. Maybe it was some kind of poison that smelled like roses. That seemed like something he would do.
"My name is..." Her mantra was cut off by the sound of another voice. Opening her eyes again, the same town she saw before was still there but now there was a woman with a baby carriage in front of her. Stumbling back ungracefully but keeping her eyes trained on the woman's face with a look Katniss hoped was stern (or at least didn't look like she was about to collapse into a panicked rage) glance.
"Where is he? Where is Snow?"
Test City sounded like some camp he create to play with innocent lives. It could have been a testing ground for all his Gamemaker's traps and where all the Mutts were created. She didn't know. All she knew was one breadth of the evil that lived inside that old man and she would believe he was capable of anything.
