Hayley heard a girl yell while she was out for a walk with Hope. She sounded as if she were in some kind of distress. Hayley could have ignored her, should she have chosen to. No one would think less of her, because she wasn't out here alone. She was pushing Hope in her stroller. But Hayley thought, if she were in distress or sounded like that...that she wouldn't want to be left alone.
Test City was not like her home. Things happened here all the time, and there were all kinds of people from all walks of life. Some even came from different worlds and times. And the dangers here were very real as well. What the hell kind of person would she be if she left this strange girl to fend for herself?
By the time Hayley reached her, Katniss didn't look so good. She looked like she was about to have a panic attack or something. What would Cami do in this situation? Hayley thought of the graduate student who had ingrained herself into the lives of the Mikaelson family. What would she do, indeed?
Hayley didn't get too close, but she held out a hand. "Breathe." She told Katniss. "You're okay, you're in Test City. We all ended up here."
