"I have heard that," Natasha replied, before she glanced at Mutt, who was happily following at her heels. She'd become very fond of the friendly pup, partly because he was unlike anything she'd ever seen before and partly because he was pretty damn ferocious in his own right. Mutt was content to stay at her heels, which she took to mean he trusted her judgement on the stranger at her side. Natasha was oddly touched by that, and she resolved to give him a few treats before handing him back off to Riddick.
"This is Mutt. I'm only borrowing him for the afternoon." Mutt gave a bark of approval and ran ahead a few steps, making her smile just slightly. "Another resident here is from another world, and Mutt happens to come from one of the places he'd been. Just needed a change of scenery, is all." Natasha wasn't about to give away Riddick's name, origin, or place of rest. She liked him far too much to do that. "He only bites when he doesn't like you," she added, as if in warning.
Natasha decided that the new fellow was absolutely worth her time after he called her out on her work, far more accurately than most. She was probably getting sloppy, but it was also very possible this guy was just that good. Either way, worth getting to know him. "Former covert ops. Former alphabet soup. Not quite private practice, but..." she shrugged, an elegant roll of her shoulders. "Life has a funny way of doling out fresh starts, wouldn't you say?" It didn't escape her notice that he'd failed to introduce himself. Nat didn't take it personally.
"I know a place that has more food, less booze, and some quiet corners to talk." Natasha assumed it was a given that he'd follow, so she directed them toward the Out of This World Cafe where they'd have some privacy and she could get some more information out of the former Marine.
"Test City is the kind of place you're going to want as much information as possible on. You just missed residents randomly breaking out into song, and that was the more mild of the incidents that have happened since I've been here." Stark had more experience with these so-called pocket universes, but she wasn't about to put all her faith in Tony Stark. Having Jane Foster around certainly sweetened the deal, in her mind. If anyone could figure out what was going on, Natasha would put her money on Foster and Stark every day of the week. Maybe she'd take babysitting duty off Pepper for an evening and check in on the good scientists.
The cafe wasn't far from where they'd started, luckily enough. Nat pulled open the door for him, another smile playing at her lips. "Grab whatever seats you want," she told him, snagging two menus from the podium. Whoever was serving them wouldn't be surprised; Nat always sat herself when she swung by. Perks of knowing the manager, even if he was acting weird lately. She did a sweep of the place, pleased to find to threats to her life lurking in the room.
"I'm going to guess coffee, but I can't tell if you're an eggs and bacon kind of guy, or a burger and pie kind of guy."
