Her first inclination was to tell him she was of the pissed off hybrid design. But the more he spoke, the more she softened. She wasn't used to having a lot of time to herself anymore. She had Hope. And her daughter was always going to be more important. But right now, Hope was with her uncle Elijah so Hayley was grateful for the break. Part of her never wanted to be away from Hope after being separated from her for so long, but Elijah deserved to see her too. And she couldn't be around him right now, not after she'd embarrassed herself the other night.
So she was here, on her own. She was just looking at different things on one of those middle kiosks. She had no plans to buy anything. Well, maybe a gift for her sweet little daughter. She just didn't know what yet. But her browsing was interrupted by this...man.
He had an innocence about him, that she almost envied. She couldn't place it. She let him continue talking to her, without saying a word yet. Her face contorted into a look of shock and horror when he showed her his brand. Lycan. Wolf. That meant they were almost the same. And no one fucking owned a wolf, not to Hayley. It'd be different if it was a pack marking, but it wasn't.
"I'm a hybrid." Hayley said, trying to keep her voice calm. She didn't know exactly what a splice was but she knew she was pissed off that someone considered him a slave. Were his owners here? Hayley would take care of them, promptly. "Part wolf, part vampire."
