A wry smile came upon Lapis's face when the other woman mentioned all of the singing going on. "It is distracting, and annoying," she answered.
She wondered who it was more distracting, and annoying for; those who had to listen, or those who had to sing? Lapis thought it might be the latter. They were the ones forced to reveal their innermost feelings through song. While Lapis didn't mind showing emotion, she preferred to do it on her own terms; and not by singing some song about being homesick, and dogs, or whatever BS.
A slight wind caused the skirt of Lapis's sundress to flap in the aforementioned breeze. While she really couldn't feel it, the blue alien folded her arms just under chest, as if trying to protect herself from something.
"So, who are you?" Lapis asked looking up at the woman. "And my name's Lapis; Lapis Lazuli."
