Time passed slowly here, or at least, it felt that way to Maleficent. She did not need that much sleep, and so to pass her time she walked. Maleficent must have walked the park trails a hundred times, although she was very careful about not wandering into other people's territory. She respected boundaries set forth by others, and as long as they respected hers, she would be a good neighbor.
Her staff clicked against the paved walkway, a gentle reminder that she was bound to the earth and without the use of her wings. Phantom pains radiated out from where her wings had once joined her back, causing her to pause in her steps. Closing her eyes, Maleficent took in a deep breath, letting it out slowly. That rarely happened, but when it did it reminded her of all she'd lost and all she'd gained in the years since.
Yet again her mind wandered to her home. She hoped that the mortals had not taken over the moor in her absence, or that Aurora had thought she'd abandoned her when she'd had very little choice in the matter. Surely time had stopped the moment she was brought here, but magic, or whatever this was didn't work that way.
The pain slowly subsided, and she rolled her shoulders as if to shrug off the rest of her pain. It was then that she heard the off key singing of a jogger coming down one of the trails. According to the network, which she had very little reason to post to or anything of that sort, people had been stricken with the need to sing at every little thing. Maleficent found it all rather annoying, and would've greatly preferred the songs of birds over the off key singing her ears were being assaulted with at every turn.
The jogger turned down a different path, the sound of their warbling fading off into the distance and Maleficent continued down the path she'd been walking. Part of her hoped that she would not run into any others that were afflicted with this -- whatever it was. She wanted to give her ears a break.
