Chuckling, Maleficent gave a small inclination of her head in Ella's direction. "Thank you, I greatly appreciate that." And she did, of course, sincerely appreciate it. She didn't need him thinking that he was that important in the event that he did show up though she suspected he knew it all the same.
Maleficent wasn't as good at hiding her emotions as she liked to believe that she was.
She smiled softly at the mention of the birds singing with Ella. She could imagine that they would do so, and she was sure that the young woman had a lovely voice. "They do indeed." Maleficent replied with a small nod of her head, and she again wished that there were some in the trees above. Pausing, Maleficent turned to face her, "Of course, and thank you for allowing me to walk with you." A light smile still pulled up the corners of her lips, "I will keep that in mind, and I extend the same courtesy to you as well."
Maleficent turned, deviating from the path that they had been walking on to head deeper into the park and back to the place where she'd been staying. It was a lovely evening, even with the nip in the air, and she truly did hope that Ella took her up on her offer one day.
