Ella could see that she was making her companion smile, and that meant the world to her. Everyone deserved to be happy, particularly when they were alone in a new place without any of the comforts of home. The fairy seemed kind of lonely, and maybe a bit down on herself, but Ella would happily try to cheer her up if it meant she could enjoy her time a little more. She sincerely hoped the other woman would gain back her wings, but there wasn't much else she could do aside from that.
It felt as though they were sharing a bit of a secret, which made Ella smile warmly. "I promise not to stay a word to Diaval, though I do hope he arrives here. It sounds as though he means a great deal to you, and one should never be without their friends." She missed the animals that had inhabited their small home, but that was in part because her only other real friends were the servants Lady Tremaine had dismissed.
"The birds at home used to sing with me," she shared softly. "It was always fun to hum or sing a melody and have my friends sing along with me. They have quite the vocal range." Ella hummed a few bars of one of her favorite songs, a lullaby her mother had sung to her as a child. "I've always loved to sing. My mother taught me when I was younger, singing to me and helping me to learn how to sing along." A breeze washed over them, sending a chill up her spine. "Oh, it's getting a bit chilly out. I think I might call it a night. Thank you very much for the company," Ella said warmly. "If you're ever in need of company, please do not hesitate to reach out."
