Shaking his head, Jack sighed. "I can't say I have heard of you before, sorry. It is nice to meet you, Peter." It all sounded very strange to him. Being half-human and half-something else. Jack didn't believe in aliens, hell, there wasn't a lot that he believed which was strange considering what he'd seen.
This conversation was one of the strangest that Jack had ever had in his life, and that was also saying something.
He eyed Peter's hand for a moment. Such a simple gesture that once upon a time he wouldn't have had any issue accepting. Now? Now he worried what might happen if he did take that outstretched hand. Jack knew he was being irrational, so he sucked it up and placed his hand in Peter's, giving it a firm shake.
Releasing his hand, Jack tilted his head to the side, listening to what he was saying in regards to himself and about his parents. Even among humans it was typical to see when someone was of mixed race, but as far as he could tell Peter looked 100% human. He wondered, for a moment, what these aliens he was speaking about looked like. Were there many different species? And what about these Ravagers he'd spoken about? There were a lot of questions swirling around in Jack's mind when Peter posed his first.
"Dharma. You could say that, and no, they're 100% human." He thought about how to best describe the Others. "We crashed on an island that we thought was uninhabited. Turns out there was a group living there and they weren't exactly the welcoming sort. Their latest plot was kidnapping all of our pregnant women, but we found out about it. It wouldn't be the first time they kidnapped any of us, or even killed people for that matter." Jack shook his head, still worried that they might not make it and that everything would go to hell.
There was little he could do from here. Hell, maybe he'd died and this was some sort of inbetween. "How many different species of aliens are there out there? And who are these Ravagers? Are they alien too?"
