Laughing, Carlos gave a small nod. "You know, that's very true." He was busy with work, and spending as much time as he possibly could with Alice. Truthfully he would've taken spending more time with Alice over everything else. She was that important to him, and he felt like he needed to make up for the time that he wasn't there for her.
Carlos shifted on his feet, double checking their surroundings before popping the clip out of his own gun to check how much ammo he had left. Glancing over at her, Carlos lifted a shoulder. "I'm hanging in there the best that I can." It reminded him too much of home, too much of the shit they'd had to deal with with Umbrella. Part of Carlos wondered if they had a hand in all of this. It wouldn't surprise him, truth be told, but they did like to proudly display their symbol on everything.
Carlos had yet to see any of their symbols here which meant either they did not exist in this world or they were exercising more caution this time around. Somehow Carlos doubted that they would do that, still the possibility was always there in the back of his mind.
"It's too much like home. Well, the mutation part that is and fighting for survival." He slammed the clip back into his gun, and then looked back at Alex. "It's like I never left, but honestly? I'm doing alright. Worried about the civilians, but as long as they stay inside and let the rest of us deal with it? I think they'll be okay." At least he hoped so anyway.
"If you want we can stay together, watch each other's backs for a bit."
