[Name:] ariel.
IC:
[Name:] Julianne "Scout" Monroe.
[Age:] 24.
[Birthday:] October 16th.
[Race:] Werewolf.
[Physical Description:] Tall, very thin, and naturally blonde, Scout has pretty much everything going for her, physically. She's a beautiful girl, although her features are fairly strong. Her most powerful feature is her eyes: they're hazel, a mixture of green and gold, ringed in dark brown and kind of mesmerizing. She normally wears her hair medium length and blonde, but she's been known to dye it, her signature colour being bright pink. Her clothes are bright and stylish, though she doesn't seem to belong to any particular subculture. "Hipster" is maybe as close as anyone gets to labeling her. She prefers to wear very short shorts or mini-skirts, and heels at least four or five inches. She has half-sleeves on both her arms, as well as tattoos on her wrists and hips, and shooting stars behind her ears. Her tattoos, like the rest of her, are bright and colourful. She has several piercings in each ear and her lobes are stretched. She has a versatile look; in long sleeves with her hair blonde and covering her ears she looks like any other girl on the street, in a tank-top with a cotton-candy ponytail she has a punky edge to her.
[Personality:] Scout is a chameleon. She changes her personality to suit whoever she's hanging out with, and has several different groups of friends who represent different parts of her personality. She can be friendly and loud but for the most part she's quiet, sometimes coming across as shy simply because she can be reticent when she's in certain moods. Even when she's not feeling very extroverted, she's a capable actress and can force herself to act outside her comfort zone, if she feels she needs to--if other people aren't going to step up and make the first move, she definitely will. She'll give anyone the time of day, but she is by no means stupid. She has what she calls a "creep-o-meter" and is a fairly sensible person.
"Scout" started out being her stripper name, but so many of her current friends she met through her job that it pretty much became her primary nickname and identity. She loves music, especially dance-punk, nu-rave, and obscure indie bands. She spends much of her free time outside of work at clubs and bars because she loves to dance, whether it be on stage with no clothes on or in the middle of a crowd of people. She has low tolerance for people who are pretentious or snobby, the kind of people who think they're better than everyone else for no real reason.
[History:] Scout had the boringest upbringing ever. She was born in Tel Aviv, but moved to Brighton when she was six, for her father's job. Her childhood was idyllic; her family lived close to the beach and was pretty firmly middle class. She got a good education. She got along well with her parents. Things looked promising, and she wanted to go to school to be a nurse.
Things changed when she was thirteen. Her and some of her mates had traveled out to the country, intending to hang out and do what teenagers do best: get sloppy drunk. Things went south, as you would expect it to for a bunch of kids out alone in the middle of nowhere at night. Julianne and her male buddy had separated from the group and were in the process of engaging in furious make-outs when they were attacked by what they would later assume was a large dog--it was dark, they didn't see it well. Julianne's friend died, and she was pretty badly injured. Her friends heard the commotion and came over, scaring the dog off, which was what saved her life, but she nearly died waiting for the ambulance.
Her parents freaked, the community freaked, etc, but in the end nothing seemed to come of it. That is, until the next full moon; by then, Scout had gone home. She was messing around in the attic of her parents' house when it hit, and she had her first painful change with no idea what was happening to her. She thought she was dying. Her screaming alerted her parents, who rushed upstairs just in time to see a large, angry wolf in their attic; they barred the door and called animal control, who took it away. They were going to have the thing put down, up until the local wolf rescue center got wind of it and pitched a collective hissy fit. They argued long enough about the fate of the apparently rabid wolf long enough for the full moon to pass, and everyone was surprised to find a naked girl in the cage it had been in.
Julianne's parents quietly took their daughter and moved away to London before people paid too much attention to that bizarre event. For years, they seemed to live in denial about their daughter's condition, other than locking her in the basement during the full moon. The w-word became a dirty word in their house. No one ever talked about it. Julianne felt very alone and very isolated, afraid to get close to people because of her condition, resentful of her parents for how they treated her. As soon as she was done with school, she left home, moving across the other side of town. For a while she contemplated going to university, but she never had the aptitude. Instead she got a job at a strip club. She met some people who turned out to be like her, and they formed their own little pack; she rooms with them in a flat in a pretty good part of town. She makes damn good money at her job, and due to the particular nature of her curse, she's going to be able to do it for a long long time.
[Weakness:] In addition to all the typical weaknesses of werewolves, Scout has some personality flaws that can be aggravating to people who know her: she has a tendency to be too laid back and boyfriends/girlfriends in the past have accused her of not caring enough about anything. She has a tendency to hold on to grudges longer than is really healthy, and when something upsets her, she can disrupt her entire life with wallowing self-pity.
[Strengths:] She's very much in shape, and is graceful and composed. She's a very bright girl, though most of her smarts come in the form of people-smarts, not so much academia. She has the ability to make friends with people fairly easily, and her laid-back attitude endears her to lots of people. She makes a good mediator in a fight.
[Family:] Amy (schoolteacher) and Stewart (journalist), her parents, still live in London, and though she doesn't see much of them anymore, she calls them every now and then; the rest of her family is mostly split between Tel Aviv and Brighton, and Scout has only a passing relationship with some of her cousins, aunts and uncles. Other than that, she has two roommates who are also coworkers, as well as her "pack", a group of about five of her friends who are also werewolves.
[PB:] Bracket Suicide
[Anything else you would like to mention:] mmm... nope
