[Name:] Felicity O'Hanlon
[Age:] 17
[Birthday:] 1.5.1991
[Race:] Human
[Physical Description:] Felicity stands about 5'6, and is on the waifish side of thin. She has pale skin evident of her celtic heritage and freckles hidden under makeup. Her eyes are a greyish blue, and her hair, well - once upon a time it was blonde, but these days it ranges anywhere from white to black, and every color of the rainbow in between. It can change on a daily basis, though she's most partial to pink. She is a glitter goth, and is almost never seen without a full face of makeup on.
[Personality:] Felicity is hard to pin down personality wise - she can go from uber emo to cheerful in an instant. She's a bit of a snob when it comes to certain things, but takes pride in the work that she does - so much so that she considers it a calling more than an occupation - impressive for something that pays 8 dollars an hour. She's a non-conformist, marching to the beat of her own internal drum, with strong opinions on a myriad of topics. When she's feeling less than confident, she has a habit of growing snarky, and hiding behind a facade of apathy.
[History:] Felicity was born into a pretty normal family, the only child of two upwardly mobile professionals. she did all the normal upper-middle class things - ballet lessons, soccer, summer camp... all which changed when she was 11. On a family vacation with her parents, they were on a pleasure boat cruise which got caught in a storm and capsized, leaving Felicity as the only survivor. Authorities at the time were unable to explain how, exactly, a young girl had managed in the water by herself after such a storm, and she had little memory of it. She was sent to live with her grandmother, who was unsuited for dealing with a child dealing with such emotional turmoil, and in an effort to be supportive, may have offered her young charge too much leeway.
From the time she went to live with her grandmother, Felicity went from mild-mannered child to strong headed young hellion. Shoplifting, smoking, cutting class - by the time she was 15, she had been in and out of 3 high schools, all which had expelled her for truancy. On her way to being taken away from her grandmother, a social worker finally suggested an online charter school, which seemed to be the thing to save her academic career. Having fully embraced the online schooling experience, her grades immediately turned around, and once away from the structure she had rebelled so often against, her entire attitude seemed to calm, much to the relief of her grandmother.
Felicity now spends her days at a barrista, working at a coffee shop. Because her schooling is so flexible, she's able to work during the day, allowing her to often have the run of the place.
[Weakness:] Felicity still has abandonment issues from her parents passing away, which makes it hard for her to get close to anyone or trust anyone. She also craves that sort of presence in her life, and can sometimes too often give her loyalty to someone undeserving, leading to betrayal. Felicity also suffers nightmares, often dealing with her parent's death, and has a phobia of water.
[Strengths:] Felicity is, in her own mind, the best barrista in the tri-state area. She is so good at this, in fact, that she doesn't even bother to lower herself to make certain drinks, if she feels they are beneath her. She's also bright, but lacks the motivation to do do anything with her potential. She has a touch of elemental magic, but she's unaware of it - or of the fact that this is in fact what saved her from drowning so long ago.
[Family:] Felicity, in theory, lives with her grandmother, but she's almost never at home. When she is there, it's usually just to sleep. Her grandmother, while loving and caring, gave up any semblance of control over her ward years ago.

"Felicity... Can I see you for a moment?"
She groaned lightly under her breath as she heard the voice of the store's manager coming out of the office... how had he known she had just walked in the door? Pasting on a smile she stowed her messenger bag behind the counter and offered her co-worker a grin, before poking her head into the back office.
"Hey..."
"Felicity... I had an interesting... complaint earlier from a patron. Care to explain?"
"You'd have to let me know what the complaint was..."
"Something along the lines of some punk kid refusing service?"
She blinked innocently and shrugged, hiding a grin.
"Don't know why you assume it was me. I'm the epitome of polite."
"You're the worst customer service worker I've ever met. How often have I told you you need to actually serve people what they want?"
"I do! It's not my fault they sometimes order what they don't want. If there's anyone I refused to serve, it's because they were rude or high handed. Or talking on their cell phone."
"Fliss..."
"No. talk on your phone, or talk to me. It's not that hard."
"You're going to lose your job if you keep that up."
"No I'm not. I'm the only person you can get who will work the hours I do for what you pay me... and I'm the only person who can handle the morning rush by myself if needed. you fire me, you need to hire three new people, minimum."
"... Go work. Be nice."
She smirked lightly as she offered a salute, and stepped out intothe coffee shop proper, admiring the room from behind her counter. There were a few regulars here. ..the writers, the poets, the students... All who came to her happy coffee shop on a regular basis, to experience the awesomeness that was...well. the coffee shop. They were her people... and she was their barrista. It was a good thing.
Etc
I've got no idea what I'm doing with this writing thing. :D
