He was probably right about the horror stories compared to where they were now, but that didn't mean she'd start watching them. If she was going to live it, she definitely wasn't going to entertain herself with it, too. In fact, the very idea that a scary movie was a walk in the park compared to what she had in store for the next year (or four if she ended up staying) was not something she was looking forward to.
When he asked about her family, Alice looked a little unsure. She didn't usually talk about them, beyond referencing her parents. But he was trying to get to know her right? "No. She left home because she didn't want to be around my parents anymore." That was the honest truth, and Alice hadn't heard from Era after that.
"Well, she might be in college; I don't know. But Era isn't the oldest. I'm not inheriting the company, my father just wants to employee all of us." Shifting in her seat, she once again managed to look him in the face and didn't immediately look away, either. "I have two sister and two brothers, I'm the second youngest, though not by much." She and Era were very close in age.
"Nicholas will more than likely take over, if Willow doesn't convince my father that a girl is acceptable enough to run a company." Her father was very old fashioned and had very distinct roles in mind for men and women. "But I don't want to talk about this."
