"I would say I'd look it up, but I probably won't. Scary movies are too much for me." At least she was being honest. She didn't like anything that intentionally tried to make her scream and or jump, and anything that left her with nightmares was right out. She supposed she'd end up with quite a few from this place, though.
"Oh, I guess that's true." She didn't think about the price of certification for his field. Really, she didn't often think about the price of anything. Even out here, all by herself, her parents were still obligated to send her money to make sure she survived. You couldn't just adopt a baby and then toss it aside, even if it wasn't what you wanted in the end. "It'll be worth it though. When it does happen." She tried to reassure him.
Alice nodded in agreement to what he was saying, realizing he was also trying to reassure her about herself. "True." Though Alice didn't really know how to talk to people, that much was obvious. She could be polite and say the right things when it was with superiors, but she usually always got it wrong with her peers. Honesty wasn't something people liked, nor blatant rudeness in her case.
Taking another sip of her coffee, she pulled the cup back and wiggled it from side to side, swishing around what was left of it so it mixed back together. Nothing like getting a sudden taste that wasn't there before because the ingredients separated. "Oh, uhm, I guess." She looked back to him. "I figured it was something I should do. Learn to be independent. My sister did it, so." Not quite in the same way, but. It was the way to escape the family.
