Well, Tallulah Blake just could not. Moving in was stressful, being away from home was surprisingly more depressing than she thought, and there just weren't that many like-minded people here. So much opposition already, it wasn't at all like California. She even came from a pretty conservative area in Cali, but boy was Normalcy different. It was alright, though. She liked the idea of being able to meet all sorts of people from all sorts of places that didn't have the general Californian mind-set, since it was totally another world there.
What she didn't appreciate, really, was the fact that the cafeteria lady was trying to pass off this Potato-Cheese soup as being vegetarian when it was made with chicken stock. Tally had almost eaten it, too, but she had learned at this point to ask down all the way to the kind of stock people used when making soups. Just because it looked vegetarian on the outside didn't mean it was on the inside. "It's not vegetarian if you make it with chicken stock." She said, letting out a small sigh. "So just in case some other poor vegan or vegetarian soul comes up wanting this soup, be sure you let them know it's not actually vegetarian." The cafeteria lady apologized but Tally was quite sure if she ordered anything from the kitchen it would get spit on - so she went ahead and found some other items in the little area that she could eat. Ceasar salad, an orange, and coffee.
Without another look to the kitchen staff, Tally made her way to the little sitting area in the cafeteria. It was a bit empty for what seemed like a great time to have dinner, but that was okay with her. She was enjoying the quiet, even though she would have liked to found someone to sit with. Instead, she picked a table somewhere near the edge but not off in a corner or anything and sat down with her stuff. The salad and orange probably weren't the most filling meal, but she'd survive. Taking out a little notepad, she wrote down be careful to ask what's in food at cafeteria and then a reminder to herself go grocery shopping.
