"We must all be washed in the blood of the lamb that we may come to Christ as a new creature," Priest informed Lot, turning his eyes towards where the cross had once hung in the front of the church. "Without discarding our old sins, no matter how slight we may think of them as being, we cannot be taken into God's bosom. Pride, gluttony, sloth, lust...all these things we must abandon so that the Lord our Father can call us home when our time comes."
His voice had taken on a cadence as he spoke as though he were in the pulpit that very moment, and he waved his hand in a grand gesture towards the outside world. "Earthly things are fleeting, Lot," he told the other man. "Food, drink, the company of women. The body is merely a vessel that transports the soul. To heaven if we're fortunate, to hell if we aren't."
