"It kinda makes me feel like I'm really part of the community," Orion said, the left corner of her mouth turning up at Reb's deliberately thickening his drawl. She knew she hadn't lost her accent yet; whether or not she ever saw Texas again, it would probably always be clear where she was from.
"You need me to do anything else?" she asked, waving one hand around at the inside of the church. "I've already done my chores for the day, and there's nothing waiting for me back at camp, so I'm all yours until you kick me out. What's next on the list to be done?"
