Orion climbed halfway up the ladder before letting Reb hand her the paper chains, and she'd located a box of thumbtacks on a nearly table to fasten them to the wall. "The place is gonna look real pretty when this is done," she remarked as she began to pin up the first of the paper streamers.
"We used to celebrate Christmas every year," Orion said in a musing voice. "It feels right somehow that the people here are doing something for the holiday. If this is going to be home for a long time, we might as well be happy we're here."
She was doing it again, talking too much. It must be the impending holiday that was loosening her tongue. Or maybe she was just halfway happy for once. "So what about you?" she asked Reb. "Got anyone special to get a present for this year?"
