The other girl's enthusiasm was nearly catching. Key word being nearly. If Mac was more of a caring person, a sweeter person, Mac would have smiled genuinely and perhaps even had perked up about the holiday. But Mac was a scarred person, inside as well as out, and it didn't suit her position to be caring and sweet.
Mac simply nodded her head when the girl wished her to get better. "Thank you. Um.. I'm sorry, I'm afraid I didn't catch your name." Mac had seen the girl, but due to the girl's lack of importance, Mac never bothered learning her name. There was a chance she'd forget it even now, but it was rude to not ask.
