For a moment all Melody could do was catch her breath and try to ignore the sting in her hands and knees. It wasn't that bad, she knew that from various other fits of klutziness that had resulted in scraped off skin, but it was the kind of pain that stung so bad the first few moments that you didn't know if it would ever stop. So all she could do was take a few deep breaths and get her act together again.
She looked up when she heard the voice close to her, offering a sheepish smile. "I was so lost in my own world I didn't even realize there was someone else around..." she said softly, gently rubbing her hands together to get the gritty little stones and mud out of her skin. She smiled again when she took the hand offered gingerly to help her get on her feet. "It's okay. I can be skittish when I'm surprised...and that's an understatement.." She could've never even thought that this woman could've done that on purpose. "You didn't happen to see where my keys went off to?"
