Melody nodded, smiling at her friend's insight. "That's always the hardest part, the emotional change that comes with it. And...this has been such an immense change dumped on everyone in a matter of moments. It's only natural that it takes time, right?" And it was those old fairies that her mother had told her about from when she'd been old enough to understand. Not all of them were friendly, true. But most of them, and most could actually be talked to, except the really bad ones. And she hoped she would never run into those. "I think March is better because it will be a little warmer then, the syrup should be easier to collect?" Not that she really knew much about it, but frozen syrup would make things hard.
Melody would've probably just stitched her own fingers together had she even tried to accomplish something as elaborate as sewing gloves. So she was proud of Vesper and the gloves were really pretty too! She had never really felt that kind of connection towards anyone before, either. But Topher was so easy to be around (even though she got a little stuttery and stammery around him now) and since they were already friends she knew that he knew her, and liked her the way she was. "I know. And I trust him, too. I'm just...a little nervous to ask him, you know? Because it's going to be...kind of official, with Christmas and everything."
