"Oh, good." She was rubbish with the stove compared to everyone else in her home, though she could still boil things on top of it and keep the bunker warm during the winter. Though truth be told, she will be glad when her family finally moves out. The bunker could be used for storage and have places to hide goods from the Chet. Which isn't something she should be doing, but Vesper rarely saw the 'taxes' distributed evenly.
"The things we do in attempt to be normal." Vesper sighed for a moment, the warm look slipping to one of wistful worry as she searched the clouds above her for a sign. "But I think the smoky quality will make the cupcakes all the more rich, right?" The cheer drew her attention away from her doubt at the simple idea of gathering sap in the next few weeks. Some could be made into brown sugar, though she'd have to hope some others in the Cano could teach her this. Vesper really, really was too engrossed in the men's duties. "Maybe we'll make a party of it, there's usually more than enough syrup to go around and if there's more than one person just working at it, we could get more than usual."
And for a moment she allowed herself a grain of pride and a sheepish smile. "Three years is a lot to ask for most gloves, so I figured you're about due for something more durable than yarn. I am getting better at the yarn but I've gotten much better at sewing leather. Just promise to wear them during your date with Topher." She accepted the items gladly, glancing at the rolled up parchment and itching to already open it up. "I'm sure it'll be gorgeous!"
It was good to see a friend finally get happiness. "Well who couldn't? You're very loveable and warm. He'd be silly not to unless if it was an age factor."
