Melody felt better after the hug, a lot less giddy (though still very happy), using the moment when Topher put his arms around her to snuggle for a bit.
She took a deep breath, realizing that she was still smiling from ear to ear. But she was a little calmer now and able to speak a little slower. She hoped. "Yes, there was a drawing of her on the Wall. And I thought maybe someone had thought she died, so I brought it to her to see if maybe she recognized it." Okay, thoughts a little more sorted, but she was still talking fast.
"We went to the church and there was a little girl, Jessie. She's the daughter of the man Shine loves. His name is Daniel. But he's called Scotch now. Like Shine used to be Angel, but we all call her Shine now. But of course we didn't know what. About Daniel being Scotch. So when Jessie said that Scotch had taken them here, Shine thought he had to be someone else, and that Daniel was dead, because he wouldn't have let his daughter go with anyone else willingly." She made a small pause, to see if Topher was still following.
"I told her to have faith and not give up hope. So we went back in and then the man Jessie had called Scotch came in from the other side and he turned out to be Daniel. Now everything is good and Shine is reunited with her love, her family. So I'm very happy, and she is, too!" She finished with a smile, arms finally coming down at her side, having flailed again as she was explaining. With a happy hum she rose on her tiptoes to kiss her boyfriend, just because she felt so happy.
