Topher was glad to be able to jog again, that and swimming had been part of his routine before the pulse hit - heated indoor pools and treadmills making it easier to do when the weather wasn't got for him - and he always missed it in the colder months. It was still too cold to swim but as long as he could jog, he was happy. The air that he drew into his lung no longer a painful feeling like the cold air of winter had been.
The doctor's brow furrowed as he thought he heard his name, purposely listening out in case he heard it again. Sure enough he did. And he could make out the flailing figure (there was no other way to describe it) heading his way and he couldn't help the small bemused chuckle that escaped him as his name left Mel over and over. He didn't know what had gotten her so excitable but he was pretty sure he was about to find out.
Topher slowed down as she neared him and stopped as she grabbed his arm, gasping for breath. "Mel, slow down and breathe. Then tell me," he said softly but there was audible amusement within his tone. He caught Shine's name but didn't understand much of anything else she said. "What's happened to get you all excitable and flaily huh?"
