He knew it would come down to this. He'd been selfish, again, and now she felt useless and to her that was worse than anything. Figures he would turn this to shit as well. "I'm sorry." he replied. Yet despite knowing he was a contributing factor to her sadness he also couldn't help but selfishly feel good that at least for a while she had ranked him higher than herself, than her own well being. And then as quick as it had come it turned to ice because he'd done absolutely nothing for her. He'd gone on like everything was the same and she'd taken a massive hit to trade just like he knew she would and he didn't do anything.
And then of course there was her brother and now more than ever it looked like she needed him but how to go about finding him? He should prioritise, pills first then her brother, or would her brother alone be enough? But how long would each take would the pills be here before the boy? He squeezed his eyes shut in frustration but kept the grunt inside. "You're not useless," he said eventually, "You can take clients it's not betrayal it's your job."
