"She's missed you," Daniel said softly, returning her smile with a small one of his own, tiredness and uncertainty making it strain a bit. "I... maybe not two hours," he replied, trying to put a bit of lightness in his tone but didn't manage it. If anything, he was going to need much longer to convince himself that she wasn't just going to disappear like every other time he had seen her.
He blinked slowly as she spoke fast, trying to focus on each question. "No, I.. I'm ok.." he murmured, only half aware he still had his old battered coat on. He had changed into the spare clothes from his bag rather than the clothes she had mentioned before. He just didn't like the idea of wearing clothing for someone broader than him, the clothes he had helped hide his thing frame.
