Buck nodded slowly, his brain working overtime throughout the entire meeting. "Working together is a given. Not an 'if required', that was the whole point of this meeting. No Omas are missing, nor the usual Enks that I'm aware of but that can easily be checked. We can't force them to move into a territory if they feel they are safer in the church but people can easily be stationed there and patrol the neutral zone as well."
The Oma leader didn't like the need to comment on who's tribe was the supposed 'stronger' or how Saga had 'taken' this place but now was not to the time to get into all that. He shook his head at something Mac said. "A week is too long. I already know who are fighters and who aren't within my tribe, as I am sure each leader is. For now, I'd say set up patrols along the borders, co-operate with those we share borders with and keep a careful watch on the neutral zone and any new Enks to the town. These people came here with a plan after hearing about us, they've been here at least a week already that we know of, so any action on our part needs to be quick but not so obvious that it'll tip them off. A big group training will look odd and out of place to anyone who has been watching us. We should look within our own tribes for now, tally our resources and skills and then we'll meet again tomorrow night. As Robin said, the Cano will have more information by then and we should all have an inclination on what we can offer in way of fighters, skills such as medics and trackers, and resources by then." That was as far as Buck was going to go right now, to indicate that he would be willing to share their firearms and other supplies if needed. And that the other tribes should probably think about doing the same if they were going to succeed in ridding themselves of these people.
He looked between each of them, gauging their expressions. "In regards to the slaves, they've done nothing wrong to us, if we can release them and see to them as best we can then I think we should. If you don't want to be a part of or have a member of your tribe be a part of that, fair enough but while we're working together, they shouldn't be harmed, or coerced into doing something they don't want to. If they wish to stay, they're welcome to in my opinion, as long as they do not bring or cause trouble. If they wish to leave, then we won't stop them."
