"Do you have a map?" Robin asked Buck, who had been quiet for the majority of the meeting. He had spent most of it watching and listening to the others, formulating plans in his mind that mirrored the ones that the others were speaking aloud. Of course, he did have a map. He had had maps for years and a few that he had adapted to include and mark the tribal areas as it was now. Besides, they had already discussed this before the meeting.
Buck spread the map out across the table, where it displayed the marked out territories, so everyone could see. Robin moved forward and looked at it. She had been hunting since she was old enough to get her licence, she knew how to track and she knew how to read maps, but she also knew the land well enough to not need a map herself.
"This is where the first campfire was sighted," she indicated a spot on the map within Cano territory. "Our people counted twenty there." She ran her finger west for a bit before stopping again. "Here, our scouts sighted a few scatterings of their people. They may have been surveying the area, figuring out how best to enter the town, if they hadn't done so already. So far, we have counted thirty to thirty-five individuals." These numbers were only those that the Cano had witnessed within their territory, proper scouting parties would reveal and track where these individuals came and went, and it wouldn't take long for the forest tribe to find that out.
"Here, here and here, there are clearings just outside our borders. They could be ideal places to keep slaves if they are doing so," she said in response to Stryde. "I can get scouting parties on to them as soon as I get back."
Robin spared Lot a glance. "We won't need a week. You'll have your full intel in a day, maybe two, but I will definitely have more information by tomorrow." She was confident of that. The forest may be large, but so was her tribe and they were skilled in what they did.
