Mari nodded once to Tiger. She knew it was a bad idea to engage the people by the fires. The urge to slit their throats didn't go away, but she pushed it down to avoid conflict. She looked down where Tiger indicated they should exit the tree and nodded again. She began to move around to shimmy back down the trunk when movement caught her eye.
Someone else was approaching the campsite. She tensed briefly before she realized she recognized the man who had approached. She feared for a minute that Allen had betrayed them and was with these "traders". Then he slipped behind a bush and settled to watch the camp intently.
Mari gestured to Tiger and pointed to Allen. Then she made a circle gesture with her finger and pointed down, indicating that they should circle back around to where he was hiding once they were back on the ground.
