Alicia had set up a campsite about a quarter of a mile away from the river and was headed down to the river for some food. Though she had a fishing rod she also brought with her a fishing spear. Fishing line snagged and broke and the rod would be worthless when the line eventually wore out so she wanted to learn to fish with the spear as well, simple sharpening and cleaning was all the upkeep required.
Things were certainly different now but she was doing the best she could. Some nights she broke down and cried, some nights she felt nothing. It wasn't until recently that she came upon the town and actually found other people. Though she hadn't decided to approach them yet it was comforting to know that there were other survivors.
It was still very startling to her when the man approached her. She jumped when he spoke as she did not hear him approach. "Oh..Hello." she replied. She wasn't sure how to reply, sure the greeting wouldn't be strange a few years prior but society was sort of destroyed. "Yes, lovely weather. It's nice that the winter finally broke." she added, offering a warm smile. "I'm Alicia. I'm from California...well Australia originally." she explained. "I didn't think I would end up finding other people." she added.
