It was a woman, or rather a girl, probably not too much older than Orion, and the hunter paused in her approach before taking a couple more steps in that direction. It wasn't like her to accidentally stumble onto someone else's hunting grounds, not when it was so frowned upon, but there was a possibility she'd slipped up today. Her hand stayed near the knife, just in case.
"Don't often see folks this deep into the trees," she remarked, her tone neither here nor there about it. Enks hunted or scrounged on their own, so the other woman might have been another drifter. Then again, maybe not.
Play it cool, like you belong here. It gave her a mental slap, and the brunette removed her backpack from her shoulder to extract an apple from inside. Biting into the red fruit, she said, "Women don't usually hunt alone. Have you got a party behind you with an arrow aimed at my chest?"
