Who Doc and Lot Where Neutral Territories, medical post When Summer of 2015 What A conversation about treatment and a misunderstanding Rating PG-13 for possibility of swearing
The summer afternoon was warm and the sun was steadily sinking west when Charles brought out his tools to clean in front of his medical post. Tools had to be cleaned in boiling water with drops of bleach or iodine for a few moments to kill the germs before he allowed them to dry in the sun with supervision. This had become the ritual that Doc was closed to regular malays for the evening. It was relaxing work that he could do out in the open and he could people watch, jotting down various mental notes in the case they came to his Post in the coming weeks and days.
It had been some days since an incident that all but slipped his mind. A young man, drunk and violent, had come to the Church demanding to be seen about a wound received in a bar fight. Charles, while open for emergencies, had turned down the young man. Not because he was Lawu but simply because he was still violent and aggressive and they were in the Church. And Amy had to hide behind one of the pews out of fright.
Doc didn't have to draw his gun that day, but his hand had rested on the weapon as he steadily told the young man to leave the Church. A few Enks escorted the youth out of the building. Whatever happened after that, Doc never found out. The young man never came back to him when sober and he assumed that Topher might have run into him or the young man was Chet in the first place. But Doc had no idea rumors were spreading about the Lawu about the 'new' doctor in town.
