"I didn't really notice her, well, I mean I spoke to her, asked if she knew when you would be around... She didn't seem to know." Daniel had missed seeing Angel every day, she had that way of lifting his mood. "You've busted your guitar? How exactly? And yeah, kind of need to cover those two." He may not have had to worry about rent but he did have a mortgage, bills and food to buy and he knew that he rarely had anything left over. Hell, sometimes he had to forego food for himself in favour of making sure Jessie was cared for.
Daniel leant back against the sofa, half turning so he was facing her. "Jessie's been good. She's so much better now, really come back out of her shell. Which I'm glad of." He had been worried about how the little girl was with how quiet and timid she had become after her mother's death and he had felt that he wasn't helping her properly because of his own problems. "Me? Apart from the obvious, just really tired to be honest, having a young kid and working the late show does not go together well."
