Derek looked sharply back at Kyle, but his expression softened as soon as he saw his brother. He wrapped his other hand around the gun he was still holding loosely, and shrugged his shoulders. "I bet they got out," Derek told him, and he nodded a little, barely moving his head. "I bet since they've been out they've got to Australia. Somewhere nicer, not like a nuclear wasteland. Somewhere hot, and there's not so many machines there," he lied, his imagination slightly lacking when it came to making these stories up. "I wouldn't mind a bit of beach right now," he told him, with another nod.
