Elijah was worried about the new arrivals. He wasn't sure how they had gotten here, but the part that worried him the most was the fact that he didn't know how to get them back. They all had lives back home, and whomever was behind this was certainly messing with the natural order of things. There were lives on the line here and something had to be done. Some of these people clearly hadn't been involved with anything like this before, and certainly not a single new arrival chose this for themselves. This was the very thing he hated about magic. It messed with people's lives and almost never fixed those mistakes. Sure his mother had been a witch and he loved her, but she had been just as bad as so many other witches. Look at what she had done to her own children out of fear...and then over a thousand years later when she finally realized her mistake she had tried to correct it by killing them. Of course he still loved her, but he knew better than to put his faith in any kind of magic anymore. He would figure out how to fix this and figure out the moon rings for Hayley and then he was through with magic. He had to be. He was tird of seeing the bad side of it over power the good so often. There were only three people in this town that he was sure he could trust. He knew he could trust his brother....as strange as that may sound to some people he was sure of it. He knew that in the end his brother always came around. He always tried to do the right thing, even when he wasn't sure what it was. Elijah also felt bad for his brother. He had let him down many times, but not standing up to their father. He felt like he had a lot to make up for and he didn't care how long it took he would keep trying with his brother. He would do whatever it took to keep the other man safe and to help be the man Elijah knew that he could be. Of course the other two people he trusted as his sister and Hayley. Those two women had renewed his faith in life again. No matter how far his sister seemed to go Elijah still saw that bright light she had always seemed to carry when they were young. He was determined to be there for her, and reunite their family. Then there was Hayley. He knew he was in love with her...even if it was complicated. He just couldn't help himself. She was the woman who had reminded what real love really was. It wasn't a fairy-tale...it was hard work that was always worth it. Elijah was sitting in their study waiting for his brother to come down. They had a lot to talk about and he knew it was best to get on with it. There wasn't any time to waste. The town was filling up, and soon enough they might actually find that they are running out of room. So, Elijah leaned back in his chair and waited for Klaus. |
