Ryun's hand felt warm against her cool hand on his hot cheek. Riona looked into his eyes and made eye contact as he mumbled that it was just a song and that they would have still been friends. "I wanted to do this, Ryun, no one forced me." The last thing she wanted was for her friend to feel as if any of this was his fault.
He promised her they would return to school as soon as possible, that they would not force her to do things she wasn't ready to do. Riona looked a little worried at that. "We have obligations, Ryun. Fans who are waiting for this who are looking forward to this." And as he looked unconvinced, she continued. "To cancel would disappoint those most important." Still the older boy didn't look convinced. Riona looked down as she took her hand away from his warm face.
"If we cancel they will want to know why. They will push for answers I'm not ready to give. And if word gets out that I am sick people will search more deeply into my condition and I can't let that happen." She knew how that sounded and she swallowed hard as she tried to think of something else to say to convince him that canceling wasn't a good idea. The witch hunt that would ensue into the reasons for canceling could uncover her secrets she would rather not be known by anyone. Being a kitsune held a certain negativity to it especially here in Korea with the legends and mythology surrounding them. It would help that she was sick due to denying her most base nature and would only feed into the stereotype.
