Riku had been purposely hoping to illicit a response but he had no idea what kind- maybe annoyance or something else, something to stop his heart thrumming with some unknown cause and purpose it has passed through his mind when talking to Chi in Korea- did he have a crush on Suki? Was it more than a crush? He hadn't addressed it then and he wasn't ready to yet. Riku was meant to be the stoic unemotional one who stood on the outside looking in most of the time. Not the one who dreamed of Suki (not always in a sexual way) and wanted nothing more than to see her smile; this probably didn't make any sense to anybody else- but to him it did, kind of- what it all came down to was he wasn't sure he could love and he didn't know how to.
He stayed still as she lent back into him moved his hands from her neck not wanting them to slip like he intended to strangle her or anything and instead rested one along the back of the lounge and the other brushed up and down over the soft material of the robe covering her arm- an innocent gesture. He stayed still for a little while longer before he craned his neck around so he could see her face, he didn't want to ruin the moment and honestly he didn't want her to move- he looked having her close to him. He listened to her heart sure it would break through her ribs- was she feeling the same way or was she scared of him being behind her not knowing what he was doing? He smiled a little to show her he meant no harm and that he liked that she was close to him.
