AFTER DINNER | RIKA/JAE-HWA
Dinner had been enjoyable, if simply to partake in the cat and mouse game that she and Jae-Hwa were in the midst of. It was Xiah's fault; at least that is who Rika blamed it on. His talk about jealousy had gotten under the vampire's skin, and that had led to her invitation to Ryun along with the gentle flirtation with every other male at the soiree. Including Kwan.
Orika Ehime belonged only to herself.
Now that dinner was through, Ryun had insisted on assisting Riona in cleaning away their mess. The shapeshifter was sweet and charming in his simpleness. Rika glanced down at his gift to her, an origami corsage in the colors that represented the season and she smiled softly. Only he would think to do such a thing. There was nothing grandiose or over-the-top where he was concerned. Perhaps it wasn't what she always preferred, but she could appreciate the thought.
She lounged against the back of the settee, the long dress she wore sliding open to expose the length of her leg. Flicking the sleek pony over her shoulder, her dark eyes watched the sky through the window as snow flurries filled the air.
