WHO: Kiss and Crash WHEN: Backdated to August 3rd. Right after this and this. WHERE: Kiss' room. WHAT: Kiss just had a big fight with her best friend and learned some heartbreaking things. She needs comfort from Crash. And to tell him some things too. RATING: Likely medium for Crash's mouth? I think we'll be safe there. Who knows.
Kiss couldn't believe what had happened. She kept playing it over and over, trying to figure out how she had missed something so huge. Not just while they were talking about HER (like she realized now they ALWAYS did), but in general. There were so many signs she saw now. Crash had been right. She still couldn't believe it was true, but the vivid memory of Lexi's heartbroken expression was proof that it was. Just thinking about it made her stomach hurt, and her heart clenched. She had done so much crying since returning to her room that her eyes were burning now. The tears had slowed to a trickle thankfully, which allowed Kiss to finally use her phone properly. She didn't want to be alone right now. She'd rushed back here, the guilt making her feel ashamed and angry, and the tears had kept her alone for hours. Now that it seemed to be subsiding, she felt hollow. Empty. The guilt was strong, and of course she put what had happened all on herself. He was her best friend. She should have seen the signs; should have done something to ease his mind instead of inadvertently tormenting him with what he must've viewed as false hope. She was a horrible person, no matter what Crash said. Breaking someone's heart had never been something she wanted to do, as Kiss was too sweet and caring to hurt someone that way, and yet she had done it to someone she cared about. It made her miserable to think, but texting her boyfriend had lifted her despair just slightly. Seeing him in person would be even better.
When she'd gotten home, Kiss had discarded her dress for a pair of loose pants and a simple t-shirt. Hardly the fancy attire she was known for, but she'd been too upset for anything else. She was still curled up on her bed, looking at her phone as she waited for Crash. The overwhelming anxiety that had started to form after the attack on the school had grown, and her sister's attack added to the unsettled feeling to make her desperately afraid of losing everyone she cared about. Perhaps Kiss should have told someone these irrational fears, but things with her family and court had preoccupied her so that she felt like it might be better. Until she'd lost her best friend today. Everything seemed a lot smaller in the room, and the messages from Crash were the only thing capable of keeping her calm. He always had that effect on her, and she knew if anyone could ease some of this pain it would be the boy she loved. It was a bittersweet thought, considering this whole mess had started because another boy wanted her to love him, and Kiss tried to push that thought out of her mind as she focused on Crash instead...
