Dallas had to smile as he watched her face light up. She truly didn't expect this kind of thing, and the genuine delight on Grace's face made it all worth it. As she knelt down and placed a kiss to the corner of his mouth, he felt like he'd just gotten kissed by the sun. It was a sweet gesture, though Dallas didn't take it as a bad sign. He might be a little oblivious when it came to girls, but he didn't think there was any way to misconstrue what Grace was thinking now.
"Of course I did. You deserve all this and more," he said softly, reaching out and gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "And well, I was kind of hoping, you know..." Clearing his throat, Dallas tried not to blush, though it really wasn't a successful repression. "I was kind of hoping this would be a good way to ask if you wanted to, you know, be my official girlfriend?" he finished, looking nervous and hopeful all at once.
