Catalina loved her biological and adopted (through friendship) little sister, they were there when she needed them and she cared for them deeply- they often called her the mother hen because she was so protective over them.
She smiled and nodded, "Beautiful" she mused opening her purse and paying for both before he had the chance. She looked over her shoulder and spied the perfect present for him- "Ma'am could you wrap these?" She asked, "I'll be back in a sec" She mused, before disappearing in the crowd- she wanted to surprise him. It seemed odd for her to run off all of a sudden.
She walked over to the stall and found his perfect gift! The journal reminded Catalina of him when she saw it and it seemed to have a substantial amount of pages. The old man selling it told her how it was one of a kind and handmade, she couldn't help but smile. "Once I pay for it may I borrow a pen?" she asked. The man nodded and the transaction was complete. She scrawled a message in the front of it- For the man with big dreams and a gold of heart. May you fill these pages with all your beautiful words (and sometimes let me read it!) Love always, Catalina. Lina was sure he knew she loved him on some degree at least as her very best friends (and possibly her most favorite of friends). She returned the pen and put the journal in a paper bag. She returned back to the stall he'd been at and looked around for him.
