Elektra had every intention of finding Kaedyn today. She had barely slept last night, and skipped classes, going for a walk earlier in the day, just to get away from all the people walking around, acting like today was any another day, and not the anniversary of her losing everything. Well almost everything. She still had Kade. She came back to the room, to check her journal, contemplating writing something, but she wasn't sure what to say. And Kaedyn had beat her to it posting their song for Jade. She had heard it before, heard it when it was just the working raw version, but hearing the finished product, just...it was beautiful, and perfect and said everything she couldn't. Listening to it, had her sobbing along in her room. She commented back to Kade a few times, before she closed the computer and reached under her bed for the bottled of Jack. She shoved both of them into her bag, and then raided Lourdes stash. Neither girl did hard drugs, and it was Lourdes who had stopped Elektra from ever trying the more stupid shit that would fuck her up even more. Satisfied at what she had, she grabbed her distressed denim jacket and slid it on over her tanktop. Grabbing a pair of shoes, she slid them on and made her way out of the dorm.
No one stopped her, but that was normal. Elektra didn't have many friends left. And the ones she did, they knew. She walked from the dorm to the main school area, even though she clearly had no intention of going to class. She had already drank the last of a mostly drank bottle of Jack earlier in the day, and had every intention of drinking as much of the Jack in her bag as possible. Elektra didn't talk about Jade much, and never to anyone who didn't know him. Sometimes Lourdes and Emilie would get some of her feelings, or a story if it came up, but it wasn't something she ever talked about. It wasn't that she wanted to forget about it, or him, but it hurt so much to talk about him. Except with Kaedyn. With Kade, she knew it cut him just as much as it did her when they spoke about him, remembered him together. Almost like a good kind of pain.
It took Elektra only a few minutes to find the hidden and secret place that was Kade & Jade's. She knew about it, because Jade had shown her. And then last year, on this day Kade had disappeared. She had freaked out, couldn't find him, and his phone was off. She had been terrified he would do something stupid and she would lose him too. But something had told her to look here, and there he was. Alone and writing. They had drank and talked, remembering him, and Kaedyn had started writing "Alone in This Bed." It had taken another year before he was entirely pleased with it, but Elektra loved it, even though it made her sob like a little girl. Pushing open the hidden door, Elektra closed it quietly behind her as she entered the boys sanctuary. She hadn't bothered with any make-up as she kept crying it off anyway. Damn waterproof mascara, her ass. She reached into the bag and pulled out the bottle of Jack and put it beside him. She pulled out the other one too and settled down across from him without saying anything at first. She opened her bottle and took a swig. It wasn't awkward, it was never awkward between them. He was writing something and she didn't want to interrupt him. Her blue eyes looked out the window. Just being with Kaedyn made Elektra feel better. It was why so often Lourdes would wake and Elektra was gone, slipped into Kade's room and into his bed. He wasn't Jade, but he was all she had left. And she loved him. Of late though, she hadn't been doing it as much, not because she didn't want to, but because she could see him getting more and more involved with that pretty tattooed blonde phoenix.
