Zahra moved to a nearby stone bench and sat with defeat, head bent and her waterfall of dark hair shielding her face from Jai's eyes. "No. I haven't looked past my own desires to realize that you were stuck on the other side of this. That was wrong of me; selfish." A slender hand wiped at misty eyes, "I guess no one cared what we wanted."
With a timid smile, Zahra looked up at Jai. She'd not seen him since they were rough and tumble children. She allowed herself to appreciate him; his proud stance and handsome face. "It's been a very long time hasn't it?" Zahra was trying to think of good things...things to calm her. "Do you still like white chocolate Matka Kulfi?" She could remember sharing the sweet desert with him at the home of his grandparents. Apparently one of the time their marriage was being discussed.
