He met her eyes as she watched him. "Of course it bothers me" He stated, he didn't know whether he could trust her with the reasons why it bothered him so he didn't say anything more about why it would bother him. He pursed his lips and watched her furrowing his eyebrows, "Because it will ensure your families stand in society for one more generation" He stated, he also didn't want her in trouble or even to have his grandparents on his back about the whole thing about living all alone and being a miserable being.
He saw the sadness and wished there was something he could do that wouldn't end in his own trouble and her being miserable. He wondered if she realized she could end up with a worse husband, a worse partner who would keep her restrained she couldn't so much as breathe without his permission but Jai knew they couldn't be together. It just wouldn't work- he was fire and she was ice, it wouldn't work; It couldn't because he was somewhat resigned to living his existence alone and she seemed set on hating him.
