When Lyri said he couldn't protect everyone, Adrian looked at her, finally. He didn't say anything, just watched the unicorn as she spoke. The smile that crossed his lips wasn't one of happiness, but more self deprecating. "Sometimes people do things on purpose Lyri, and feel even worse." He watched her as she pushed herself up, and resettled. His dark eyes were on Lyri as she asked about Lola, touching his hand, and he could almost see and hear the panic in her voice. He took her hand in both of his as he spoke to her.
"Lola is fine," he said with a smile to reassure her. "She came to visit you, you don't remember?" Obviously she didn't or she wouldn't be asking right now. "They have you on a lot of medications," he said to her softly, "That could be why you don't remember." He made a mental note to talk to Lola, and assure that she had been asked about and Lyri didn't remember her visit.
